| "LAUNCH OF MENTOR CHAPTERS IN PUNE"

CONCEPT NOTE
- Background:
BYST's objective in the next 5 years is to build a pool of 30,000 trained and accredited mentors to meet the growing demand for mentoring.
A two-pronged approach is being adopted to reach out to more mentors and entrepreneurs; 1) through online orientation and training and 2) through creating mentor network chapters.
In this direction the first (pilot) chapter was launched in Pune (Shivaji Nagar Chapter) on 4th January 2007. The Chapter started with membership of 50 mentors and in past 6 months its membership has increased to over 100 members, who are the dedicated professionals and who are committed towards promoting entrepreneurship through mentoring. Now we are going to launch 4 more chapters in Pune urban and rural areas. The four chapters planned to be launched are Pimpri -Chinchwad (Urban), Camp (Urban), Saswad (Rural) & Urulikanchan (Rural).
- Conference Objectives:
- To launch the mentor chapters in Pune and Rural Maharashtra.
- Showcasing successful case studies of empowered young men and women
- Distributing the accreditation certificates to the mentors
Highlights:
- Craft Mela-displaying the products of BYST entrepreneurs and other Stakeholders.
- Frame Work:
A one hour program and following is proposed.

- Sharing of experience by selected entrepreneur and mentor pair
- Key note address on role of industries (CII, pune Chairman)

- Increased awareness & common understanding of ways to empower youth and entrepreneurship issues.

- Strengthening network structures, working relationships and coordination among various stakeholders in youth development & entrepreneurship in the state.
- Announcement of Launch of mentor chapters in Pune & Rural Maharashtra.
- Media Publicity
- Participants: Ms Anu Aga, Thermax & Trustee BYST has agreed to launch the chapters. Participants will be around 150 which will consist of BYST mentors, committee members from Pune and Rural Maharashtra, CII members, VIPs from Pune, selected banks, NGOs, youth organisations.
- Partners
- Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), founding partner of YBI, launched in India in 1992 by HRH Prince Charles, provides end-to-end support to disadvantaged young dynamic micro entrepreneurs.
- Date and Venue: The conference will be held on Monday 20th August 2007 at Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune from 1030 hrs to 1130 hrs.
